Who are the Bunker Monkeys?
We are a paintball Scenario and Recball team based out of the PNW (Pacific North West), our members consist of a mix of family and friends which makes our team mesh extremely well both on and off the field. Above all we focus mostly on having a good time, laughing, joking, and just being a monkey in all we do, but in terms of play we allow our members to just be themselves and take on the role that feels most comfortable to them and fits their playstyles the best.
We focus mainly on pump play but also have been known to run around with those electronic space guns when firefights gets too intense. And as described by other teams, our overall playstyle is more organized chaos than planned tactics, which so far has allowed us to mold to most any situation that the field requires of us at any given time by not being constrained by pre-planned expectations.
How did the Bunker Monkeys Start?
It started back in November of 2021, two of our founding members "Giggles" and "Rooster" attended the Turkey Hunt game at Nitehawk Airsoft & Paintball up in Ford, WA.
At the end of the event Giggles and Rooster got into a lengthy conversation with the "Irregaulators" another local PNW team about how they formed and their values, this led to a long talk on the way back home and with implementing some ideas that the Irregulators gave us, and modifying others, we even decided to come up with a few more along the way. After getting home and running the idea past Bushwacker (our third founding member), it only took a short 3 months to formalize our team, we found an extremely reliable jersey company, and artist to help design our logo.
By March of 2022, we attended our first event, Armed Forces War, held again at Nitehawk Airsoft & Paintball, and even though we've played several events as regular players before formalizing, we were never really noticed until we showcased our snazzy purple camo jerseys...This is how the Bunker Monkeys started.
What are the Monkeys Values?
Since we formed we've been growing at a steady pace, of 3-4 new members per year, we believe it's because of our attitude and love of the sport, once we hit 10 members our recruiting did slow down a little because the last thing we want to do is bring in players that don't share our values and can't get along with the core team, because of this we've implemented the (D.I.T.S.) system which stands for Dedication: to the Sport, Integrity: on and off the field, Teamwork: to accomplish the same goal, and Sportsmanship: with all players opponents or not.
These simple values are what we base our team around, and all new Monkeys should be willing to have the same views as we do so we can continue to grow the team aswell as our amazing sport!
